1. Responsible party

Cavallo Prive (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party (controller) for personal information collected through this site. Contact mmereki@gmail.com for any privacy request. This page is maintained by the site owner and describes current practice; it is not an independent certification.

2. What we collect

• Order details: name, email address, phone number, delivery address, quantity, payment reference and personalisation notes.
• Proof of payment: files you choose to upload, stored in private storage that is not publicly readable.
• Enquiries: the name, email and message you send through the contact, speaking or newsletter forms.
• Usage data: anonymous page views and navigation events used to understand which pages are read. No advertising trackers are used.

3. Why we use it

• To confirm, fulfil and ship your order, and to match EFT payments to the correct reference.
• To reply to speaking, advisory, media and reader enquiries.
• To send you the newsletter, only where you asked for it. Every send includes an unsubscribe link.
• To keep accounting records as required by South African tax and company law.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help operate the site and fulfil orders: our hosting and database platform, our payment provider, our email provider, and the courier delivering your book. Each processes information on our instruction.

5. Retention

• Order records: kept for five years to meet tax and record-keeping obligations.
• Proof-of-payment files: kept while the order is open and for the record-keeping period, then deleted.
• Enquiries: kept for up to 24 months.
• Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on a managed platform with row-level access rules. Uploaded proof-of-payment files sit in a private bucket that no public or ordinary signed-in user can read; access is limited to the site owner through an authenticated admin view with short-lived download links.

7. Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or withdraw consent to marketing. Email mmereki@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, or your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

This site uses only essential storage: a preference for light or dark reading mode, and anonymous page-view counts. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set. Clearing your browser storage removes these at any time.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a child has given us information, email us and it will be deleted.
